verbally of course, not physically
Froch and Groves go at it on SSN

kind of surprised hearn is just gonna send groves out there to be slaughtered. froch is at the end of his career, groves is unlikely to have the career he did but he could do well for himself. wait a few fights and this would be just as big if not bigger and could be a pass the torch kind of affair, even if groves lost he would probably do fairly well and still have a bright future ahead. at this point however froch might take so much out of him and his reputation that hes never the same without adding much too frochs legacy.
odd move at this time imo, i know its a big fight that will draw a good amount of interest but still. groves hadnt had the opposition to go into a fight like this on remotely even terms. -

Interesting to hear Froch say it's going to be on Box office. Surprising.
Also, interesting to hear Groves say Froch was without a doubt the better fighter. He should have said that before they fought imo.Comment

I think he's either saying that because:Hearn didn't want this fight to happen obviously, Adam Booth and Groves did.

(a) he got dropped in sparring by Froch
(b) he wants his potential win to look better; or
(c) he's selling the fight as the best.
Of course he could just be telling the truth but I'm too cynical to believe that.
Froch seems more interested in it being a tear-up so as to keep him an attraction in the public eye. He doesn't want another Dirrell farce but that is Groves's best hope.Comment

LOL Froch seems a bit nervous, not because he is scared, Froch is a warrior, but because he thinks Groves might run and try to squeak out a decision, It is obvious when Froch told Grove to not move in the fight and fight, and give the fans a fight.
That will only make Groves run even more haven't these offensive fighters learned their lesson yet? never tell a boxer mover not to run it will only make them run more when you fight them because they already know you can't handle or don't like movement.Comment

He has mentioned being dropped in sparring by Froch before.I think he's either saying that because:
(a) he got dropped in sparring by Froch
(b) he wants his potential win to look better; or
(c) he's selling the fight as the best.

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has denied a recent story put out there by undefeated British champion James DeGale. In a recent piece, DeGale claimed Froch knocked out another unbeaten Brit, George Groves, during a sparring session. DeGale faces Groves on May 21 at the O2 Arena in London. Froch admits that he dropped Groves during the sparring, but there was never a knockout and Groves continued to spar.
Groves admitted it on TV at some point before/after Kessler 2.Comment

That's what I was thinking too. b) or c), and that's why I think he should have said it before they fought each other. He could have sat across Kessler and said exactly the same thing.I think he's either saying that because:
(a) he got dropped in sparring by Froch
(b) he wants his potential win to look better; or
(c) he's selling the fight as the best.

Froch doesn't like movers. He knows it. Groves may be green, but he's quite slick and could cause some problems. The last thing Froch wants is for Groves to run around and steal these rounds from him and end up losing a UD in front of his own crowd.Comment

That was Froch saying it though. , not Groves. He has mentioned being dropped in sparring by Froch before.

Thanks for posting. Really like Groves, but I'm afraid he's not quite talented enough to get the W.Comment
