This is an okay tuneup fight. Cotto is not reaching for the stars with this one, just shaking the rust off and maybe looking to see what he has left at this point. What should be special is what follows considering he wins this one. Either JMM, Martínez, or Bradley would be legitimate attempts at becoming a P4P fighter again.

If this card is a succes I could see Cotto doing more fights in Florida because of the taxes. So if Florida wants bigger fights they better come out at full force! This is their chance.

According to Roach, Martinez is the target.

Cotto-Martinez is good fight for both guys, but I really wanna see Cotto-Marquez next. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

SAN JUAN - In the language of business, anything is possible.
The agenda of the former two-time world champion Miguel Angel Cotto Vazquez allegedly took a unexpected turn and now is heading to face the October 5 Mexico's Carlos Molina in an event that will be broadcast on HBO, as evidenced by information obtained by ESPN of sources close to the fighter and the promotion.

The venue has not been confirmed, but could be Miami or New York.
Combat also mark a new beginning between the relations of young businessman Cotto Vázquez and his former promoter Bob Arum, president of Top Rank, which also have their part in the promotion.

The lawsuit was held a week before the anticipated clash between Juan Manuel Marquez and welterweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Timothy Bradley, which will take place on October 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas .

The main reason is threading Cotto to a possible clash with the winner of that fight.

The Puerto Rican? - That is a boxer who has generated more sales in 'pay-per-view after Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao - also return to what would be his first fight of the year by the hand of Boxing another immortal.

It is the inclusion of trainer Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's current trainer, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Ruslan Provodnikov. If so, will be the third visit Cotto corner since 2010.

The late Emanuel Steward and Cuban Pedro Luis Diaz Benitez had short stays with Cotto. The last one was Diaz Benitez with whom the cagüeño compiled a 1-2 record.

Expected to be himself through his Cotto Miguel Cotto Promotions company who confirm in the next few days the information circulated.

While the move could be seen as one that in the eyes of the industry laceraría contractual relations between Cotto and also promoter Oscar de la Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions, said that they kept their good progress.

Cotto has worked in the last year in association with De la Hoya who is waging a media battle with Top Rank. Currently Top Rank has an ally to HBO and Showtime GBP.

Cotto's last fight - in December 2012 in New York to Austin Trout - was released by Showtime, who has left the company in the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. a multimillion-dollar figure and prepared for transmission megafight between the 'Money May' and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on September 14 in Las Vegas.

The clash of Cotto and Mayweather Jr. in May 2012 was also in partnership with GBP, but released by HBO.

Cotto's move - as it turned out - responded to an alleged refusal to endorse Showtime Cornelius 'K9' Bundrage as the Puerto Rican opponent for September 28 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
But he also said Bundrage, like the IBF, Ishe Smith -who also considered face Cotto - is recovering from an injury that will keep him out of action for long.

Smith (25-5, 11 KO), who was in phonebook measured Molina, a few days suffered a cut on his right eyebrow that also will keep him out.
Cotto, who have marks of 37-4 and 30 knockouts, lost both bouts of 2012 - Mayweather Jr. and Trout - and now seeks to resume the path of victory before ending his career.

Marquez, Bradley, Brandon Rios, Manny Pacquiao and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez include in its list of future opponents.

Alvarez and Cotto were close to agreeing, but the situation that the fight between Robert Guerrero and Mayweather Jr. did not PPV numbers projected Showtime made the company forced the signing of the clash between 'Money May' and Canelo in September.

Several media outlets reported this week came rumors of the new move of Cotto, who despite their defeats is still a major boxing figures rented.
ESPN tried to communicate repeatedly with Cotto's legal advisor, Mr. Gabriel Peñagarícano, but the efforts were unsuccessful.

This article is the reason I keep bringing up the Marquez-Bradley winner, but I don't think he'd go all the way to 147.

Bradley is a big boy, but I think JMM might've reached his limit.
