Former champion Sergio Mora (24-3-2, 7KOs) lost two very close decisions to Brian Vera (23-6, 14KOs) in the last three years. On September 7th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Vera will face former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs) at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.
Chavez returns for the first time since suffering his first career defeat at the hands of Sergio Martinez last September in Las Vegas. In January, Vera defeated another former champ when he knocked out Sergei Dzinziruk.
At the end of the day, Mora expects Vera to bring the fight to Chavez, but he also expects Chavez to win by knockout in impressive fashion.
