Just watched Chisora vs Malik Scott. The ref stopped it even though...

...he hadn't had counted to 10 yet and Malik was up and ready to fight. Scott was up at 9 and he looked clear to me, to me personally it looked as if the ref wanted to give Chisora the win. If Scott would have looked hurt, stumbling or anything, I would understand that the ref stops it, but he was never hurt in the fight and during the knockdown he looked clear all the time.
I mean I know the ref sees more than me and maybe Scott signalled him somehow that he doesn't want to continue, but from the outside it did not look like that.

crazy thing is the more often you watch it, you somehow get a feeling that Scott wanted to be counted out. Honestly, it is almost impossible to tell because Malik gets up more like at 9 and a half or almost ten.

well if he wasn't hurt, why get up at the last count? He should have been up on his feet earlier, if he wanted to reassure the ref he wanted to go on. He lost, simple.

He gave the ref an excuse to stop it IMO, it's a clever way to go out. He wasn't ready to fight IMO, and moreover fights have been stopped at counts of 8 before. When you are in a foreign country and you got KD and you then wait till the count of 9 to get up then sorry you are giving the ref a chance to say you don't want to continue.

Thought it was odd that the ref also started the count at 4.

just in case you were not being sarcastic:
nothing odd about that: the ref looks at the timekeeper outside the ring who always starts the official count and then the ref takes it from there. Ref cannot immediately start counting himself because he is busy making sure the other fighter goes to the neutral corner.
