He was losing the fight and had just been dropped.

Anyhow, I only lowered him one spot. I always felt Thompson was the best US heavy.

Everyone's below the Klitschkos but I'm not sure the US hw division is really that bad, it's just it seems they're more reluctant to take the fights.

The likes of Wilder, Jennings, Scott and to a lesser extent Thompson could have (and could still) developed if they would take on better competition instead of protecting records.

I agree especially in the case of Scott. He wasted far too many of his prime years. I expected a lot more from him during his career. As the Klitschkos transition out, I see the division becoming wide open. I don't know what to make of Wilder or Jennings yet. But like you stated it's time for them to step up.

I just looked up the top 50 US fighters on Boxrec (I know it's not the best for ratings but just for a glimpse) and only THREE of them are under the age of 26.

I know athletes, especially boxers, compete later on in years nowadays but that's a sorry statistic to have.

          The three are....

          Alexander Flores, 22, 13(11)-0. California.
          Jordan Shimmell, 24, 11(10-0. Michigan.
Richard Carmack, 24, 12(10-1. Missouri. Stopped by Vinny Madalone last time out.

Concerning Wilder, I'd love to see him against a decent opponent. He's very strong but swings like a caveman. Hard to gauge how good he is based on opposition so far.

Did people drop Pacquiao's ranking much after Bradley "beat" him?
Disagree with the stoppage or not but he was dropped and hurt (he said so himself) and had half the fight left to go and Chisora doesn't slow down.
