    unwritten rules of boxing

I find it amusing how people are acting like there has never been a dodgy decision in boxing.

    Obvious things in boxing.

    - Don't give the referee a chance to call it off , get up on 8 or earlier. Its enough time to gather yourself and the ref can't call it early then.

    - When fighting in a different country, the judges are most often biased so you are either going to have to win the fight convincingly or KO the opponent.

    - If you have been given a gift in your last fight you need to win the next fight convincingly, judges do feel pressure & bias like any other human.

    - Body punches rarely ever get counted by judges so don't expect to win a fight based solely on those.

    - Fighters often do steal rounds by late flurries in the last 30 seconds of the round so watch out for that

    - If you are not the draw or a a cash cow, don't expect judges to give you the nod in a closely fought contest

I'm not saying its right, i'm saying it happens & it happens regularly.

    Feel free to elaborate.....

It cant be an unwritten rule if it interferes with a written rule, that makes no sense at all

Being accepting of fighters getting fcuked over is as dumb as it gets

They are still things that a fighter should be aware of. better that than be naive and put yourself in a position where you can end up getting screwed over.

Everything OP states is true. It's not right, but that's what you have to deal with, so it's better to know, than to be naive about the situation.

Don't know why you would say its dumb, most of what he said is the truth.
