So it was all part of a plan, take a beating for 4 rounds?
He was getting his ass kicked man.
Its like the Cahvez jr vs Martinez fight. Martinez schooled the guy for the entire 12 rounds, beat him like a rag dall, and Chavez Jr. gets lands a good punch out of desperation. If Maravilla didnt get up and finish he would have lost the fight, but it wouldnt have changed the fact that it was just one lucky punch and Jr. is an inferior fighter.
Khan didnt school him for 12 rounds but Garcia had no answer for what Khan was doing other than slug away with a hook here and there and hope to get lucky. He got lucky, and he landed on glass chin Khan, like Chaves Jr. landed on shot up 40 year old Maravilla past his prime.
Anyway, its not the kind of stuff to brag about, like A Bich should STF after Paulie's fight, were he barely won a SD.
But what can you do. These guys are mediocre loud mouthed hypejobs.

A boxer is never the same after his first hard KO. He can still have a great career but his chin/damage tolerance isnt the same.
Ajose is one tough guy though and losing a decision isnt something to be ashamed of.
Are you ****ing serious? LMAO! Tommy Hearns along with 100 years of fighters who have lost have turned out pretty fine after tough and even brutal losses.

He still deserves praise for lasting as long as he did against Lucas. That was a hellacious beating he took.

This does kill any talk of Ajose being much of a win though.

For all the hating I've done on Garcia, it does get to me when the Khan fight is called lucky. You can clearly see what Garcia was doing on rewatch, even if you missed it the first time. Besides, it was 2 good rounds. If we went off two good rounds, Judah was better than Mayweather.

So Chavez Jr and Garcia got lucky huh, lmao! That's two lucky fighters that got lucky according to you. Then you end your lunacy with a Broner comment saying that he barely won. In the minds of true fans, the paulie fight wasn't close. In the minds of you Matthysse fans Matthysse won those close fights with Judah and Alexander. Foh with your phony ass lunacy. Cry baby.

Ajose has never been very good in all honesty, I've never been impressed with him.

Matthysse has good wins, so much better than Ajose. There's no point at all hyping up than win because honestly, it's just nothing at all special in any way.

Inactivity killed Ajose. He should have been fighting contenders instead of sitting on the shelf for as long as he did. Poor management, poor promoting and a seemingly overall lack of disregard for where his career was headed.

I'll still like him though for that Matthysse fight. What a fight and what a chin.

I can't wait to see you disappear for a couple of weeks, like after GGG Macklin. Did you still keep reading the boards while on vacation? Hope you got a lot of vacation time accrued, GGG likes to keep busy

the ajose win looked good because ajose looked like a potential top level talent. his resume was pure garbage going into the fight. truth is he never became a top level talent so it's not a very good win. you can't base things off potential unless you are a mayweather fan or some goofball.

The Ajose fight was a good win for Matthysse. He beat an undefeated fighter. Lundy beat a once beaten fighter. These were no slouches that Ajose lost to. At the time of the fights, these should be considered good wins. Nobody has Lundy beating Ajose which makes it a good win because of how he stood up to Matthysse. Ajose is just one of those unlucky guys. He isn't a true southpaw and he lacks power. Imo he didn't move against Lundy thinking that Lundy couldn't punch, and that cost him.
