I used to like Max during in his first stint with ESPN but he's terrible on the HBO broadcasts. Hyperbole after hyperbole and he doesnt have any interview skills.
Kellerman makes HBO boxing almost unbearable to listen too. He comes across as a dumb dork, all the more so when he stands and looks directly into camera when talking before and after the fight. His post fights interviews are always a trainwreck but to be fair the post fight interview is not something that really works well regardless of who performs it. Strangely Kellerman comes across a lot better on informal interviews on youtube.
Manny Steward was the only good thing about the HBO commentating team.
This. He gets a smug self satisfied look when he gets to do his monologue. His eyes get all wide like as if what he is saying is the most important thing he has ever said in the history of boxing. One of the most punchable faces on tv.
