Kellerman makes HBO boxing almost unbearable to listen too. He comes across as a dumb dork, all the more so when he stands and looks directly into camera when talking before and after the fight. His post fights interviews are always a trainwreck but to be fair the post fight interview is not something that really works well regardless of who performs it. Strangely Kellerman comes across a lot better on informal interviews on youtube.

Manny Steward was the only good thing about the HBO commentating team.

I agree Max has large shoes to fill. Larry Merchant was amazing for decades.

I don't think it helps Max that HBO is struggling for good fights/boxers. Even though they have Ward, Manny, Martinez, Donaire & GGG. They're losing a lot of traction to Showtime and three of those fighters only fight once a year nowadays.

I think Max is very strong on Espn/Radio/etc.

I think the more shows he does the better he will get. I don't think he's as free to criticize the fighters on HBO as he is maybe on ESPN or on the Radio.

It doesn't help that he's commentating with dinosaurs either. I think he'd be even more amazing paired up with Malinaggi and Bernstein.

Because max suck big fat donkey ****. That's why people hate. I used to like max but in the last few years he's turned into a puppet.
