      Happy birthday, Champ.
Have you been out in the sun too long? lol

Vitali (vs LL) would give Haye the same problems Wlad did if not more and the result would likely be the same, ala Wlad.

However, Haye beats this version of vitali.

Happy B'Day Vits, hope Boente bought you some balls.

I'm surprised Haye still has fans on this forum; his HW run has been a joke.

The so-called 'saviour' of boxing avoided Vitali like the plague for years, then, as soon as he spotted some vulnerabilities in the Chisora fight, started calling him out again. Haye had his chance; he blew it. Time to move on.

I don't think it's been a 'joke'. It was a relatively short road from entering the HW div to having a title but I think its fair to say that he had already proved his worth at CW.

I get the arguement for the opposition but lets face it, Valuev gave him the chance and he took it, Wlad gave him the chance and he bottled it. If they want to give him the chance what is he supposed to do? Refuse the opportunity and continue fighting around the circuit? That would of been nice but money talks as do titles.

This maybe true and as I said, a circa 2000 version of vitali would of probably inflicted a similar result to Wlad. However, if you agree that Haye noticed 'vulnerabilities' then you agree they are there?

Are those vulnerabilities enough for Haye to beat him? Well Vitali didn't believe so and was vocal that he could knock Haye out around the time of the del-boy fight. So why not make the fight? It wasn't Haye running at that time, whether you believe he was at any time or not.

I don't see any genuinely better match-ups if VK wants to continue as the champ.

However Boente has had vitali's balls locked away in a cupboard since he fought Sam Peter so I don't expect to ever see the fight.

the vitali that fought lennox would have killed haye, brutal KO.

the vitali that fought adamek would have won aginst haye by UD - in a fashion similar to the wlad vs. haye fight.

but the 42-old version of vitali would definitely loose to haye - I can't even rule out a KO. even an iron chin can only take a certain amount of punches, and haye has some power, noone can deny that.

Killed is a strong word. Haye is fast and elusive and VK doesn't have much experience with lighter, superfast opponents. That being said I'm certain it would be no easy fight for either guy but certainly no whitewash. Similar in many ways to the Wlad fight with Vitali staying behind his jab and working Haye down to a decision or stoppage (Vitali certainly has/had more KO power than Wlad and the stoppage wouldn't surprise me).

              Agreed.

Agreed again. I also think this fight would end in a stoppage for Haye but like I said before I don't think this will ever happen.

The people around Vitali may be loyal but they aren't ****** and a loss to Haye (even if they believe its unlikely) would not look good on his CV or in any kind of revenge for the DH's comments of old.

I don't think the "lennox version" of vitali would have stayed behind his jab - at that time, vitali was very eager to trade (although it could be argued that against lennox, who had a greater reach, he knew that staying behind the jab was no option). he was never as cautious as wlad.

                  Good post. + Karma.

I can defintely see Vitali wanting to trade with Haye, its whether or not he would catch him. Personally I think he probably would have done.

I just don't think it would have been a lop sided affair.

probably not - though I am positive that this would have ended in a KO. but yes, it would have taken some effort to catch haye. unfortunately we will never know.

in view of the shape that vitali is in TODAY, I just hope he will NOT fight haye. I hate it when great champions loose to opponents that they would have beaten prime for prime. I also didn't like the lennox vs. tyson fight (although I am not convinced that prime for prime, tyson would have beaten lennox - but it would have been VERY competitive, the outcome very difficult to predict).
