i'm not saying that floyd has no fans... but most of fraud jr's fans stream his fights.

canelo as the a-side, will make this fight a success.

Nobody is paying big money to see Lucas/Garcia. It's all about Mayweather-Canelo. They don't even need an undercard.

It won't break Oscar/Mayweather PPV numbers, I'll guarantee you that.

If it were on HBO maybe it would, though I doubt it. On Showtime PPV it won't.

People like to play off the Guerrero/Mayweather PPV bomb (750k buys) as "bad promotion" but in reality it had just as much promotion as Cotto/Mayweather did. There were commercials on popular TV networks, there was the Mayweather documentary on CBS, there was All Access, and there was Floyd's appearance at that college basketball thing and more.

Showtime has less drawing power, it's that simple.

Well, I'll do you one better.

That PPV flopped because it was the Mayweather show as you pointed out. His documentary, all about his career and the cash-out, Fight deal with Showtime. All about him. Nobody believed in Guerrero and rightfully so.

Through the miracle of promotion, they tried to turn Guerrero into a major threat even though he is the equivalent of Henry Bruseles. The fact that he is fighting a 42-0 young guy, will do wonders as far as PPV buys are concerned.

This is all true and I agree with you. I'm not implying the PPV will bomb like his previous one, in fact it's almost certain it will do great numbers. I just don't believe it'll beat Oscar/Floyd numbers. A big part of it is the fact that Showtime simply has less drawing power than HBO.

Were these tickets priced at the same rate as Oscar/Floyds or are these tickets more expensive?

My opinion of the buys in this fight:

                      With Hbo = 1.9m - 2.1m

                      With Showtime= 1.6m-1.8m

Great, great numbers and great money considering the price of the PPV but it will be not even close to the Oscar-Floyd record.
