James Toney turns 40-years young on Sunday, but that doesn't keep him from reliving the old days. 'Lights Out' claims that "back in the day" (around 1986) he

I think Ray Lewis for his will and determination, power, athleticism, and being comfortable when things get physical. Maybe Troy Polamalu although he might not have the chin, Bill Romanowski (athleticism and vicious), Brett Favre for durability and crazy power or something in his arms that may translate to serious punching power, and Rodney Harrsison (the guy just always seemed like one tough s.o.b.). I'd favor defensive players more than offense as well because you gotta be willing to initiate physicality to play d, whereas some offensive guys shy away from that and almost never initiate contact.

I saw that story as two athletically gifted people running into each other.
You know what they say about birds having the same feathers...
Maybe if Sanders got the better of Toney in that exchange, their careers might have been switched!

No mention of Lawrence Taylor or Emmitt Smith? I'd imagine you'd need bricks to drop these guys.

Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders both have glass jaws and couldn't crack an egg.

        Fighters are born not made.

I don't know about your first assertion, but I completely agree with your second. It's the argument I've been making, in a nutshell.

            Larry Johnson aka Grandma

couldve been a good/great boxer imo. He had the form, the power and skill but bball was easier and paid more...
a lil excerpt from his bio.

Larry Demetric Johnson was born on March 14, 1969, in Tyler, Texas where his taste for athletics helped foster his will to fight for success. As a youth, Johnson's sport of choice was not found on a basketball court, but in a boxing ring. From 1978 to 1982, Johnson boxed for the local Police Athletic League and won many different tournaments and recognition as an up and coming boxer to look out for.

Ray lewis and ron artest are two guys that outsize the klits and box as a hobby. theyre bith pretty good from what i hear. If they took up boxing as kids they would be world class no doubt.

Pretty much any sf, pf, or c would tower over the klits. it would def. be a more exciting division.

I'd love for Tony Thompson to just stroll into this thread.

**** Butkus. John Wayne Gacy was a choir boy compared to Butkus (on the field; off the field he's apparently a pretty nice guy.)

"Some guys try to put you in the hospital. Not **** Butkus. When he hit you, he was trying to put you in the cemetery."
