LOS ANGELES -- Vanes Martirosyan has fought on HBO twice, both times fighting southpaws counter-punchers.
If a contract is finalized for Martirosyan to fight Demetrius Andrade, his third fight on HBO will be against a southpaw known for boxing rather than brawling.
Martirosyan advised BoxingScene.com that a deal is close for a WBO junior middleweight title fight against Andrade on Nov. 23 in Macau, China on the HBO pay-per-view undercard of Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios.
"I talked to (manager) Cameron (Dunkin) (on Saturday) and he told me Nov. 23 looks like it's going to be done, so as long as Andrade is man of his word, that's all that matters to me," Martirosyan said. "We'll do the contract and the paperwork later on. As far as what I've heard, it's 23rd of November."
