Knocking out Domestic level opponents in a round or 2 and then stepping up ever so slightly and getting Stopped again is what is next for Price has gone down twice.

David Price simply didn't get enough fights and rounds during 2011 and 2012 because of having a poor promoter.

Compare the number of rounds he fought those two years to others who turned pro the same time as he did.

He should have AT LEAST 20 fights and TWICE AS MANY rounds after being a pro for 5 years.

Tyson Fury is younger and has less amateur experience, yet has over twice as many pro rounds as Price.

Hughie Fury just turned pro a few months ago yet already has 7 fights.

Mike Tyson fought 17 times in a year and Wladimir Klitschko 14 times in a year early in their careers when they were knocking out journeymen.

Price is lucky that there are some fights on the domestic scene for him which could make him a decent purse - Fury and Chisora will probably still fight him. Haye may or may not take the fight depending on demand/purse. And Anthony Joshua will turn pro - maybe Price will be a stepping stone for him next year or year after. But for Price all those fights at least represent good paydays in his own country.

With regards to Lewis training Price - I think it wouldn't be a bad idea at all if Price moves away from his home and trains with Lewis. He did last 2 and a half times longer in the rematch so technically he did actually improve.

I hate to admit it, but this is correct. Price at this stage anyway, wasn't as good as I thought he was. Thompson is not 'just below' the Klitschko's. He's well below. The Price wins doesn't prove much, and I hate to take his victory away from him, but Price proved that the first fight wasn't a fluke and he generally just isn't at the level of any other top 15 fighter.

For me the problem with David price is he signed with the wrong promoter. Being maloneys main fighter he was matched to look good (fighters with with no chin) instead of being developed and fighting people who could stretch him. He needs to get himself out of Liverpool where he became our cities first British heavyweight champ (making him a big noise). Training with Lennox Lewis wasnt a good move in my eyes, just because he accomplished a lot as a figher doesn't mean he can pass that knowledge on. It wasn't untill Lewis teamed with manny steward that he became an ATG. That was because manny helped him perfect a style that got the best of his physical attributes, Lewis didn't come up with the gameplans. Training with jonathan banks would have been more beneficial, Lewis was given instructions, banks helped manny give the instructions.

I disagree.

I'd say Lewis is well-placed to train young heavyweights. He received expert tuition from Manny, and can transmit some of that knowledge to any of today's upcoming heavyweights.

Lennox is a smart guy, too; he understands boxing. Add to that his Olympic background and the fact he was lineal champion of the HW division, he's superior in every regard to Jonathan Banks (who, IMO, has a gung-ho mentality).

I've heard rumours Anthony Joshua is looking to join up with Lennox when he turns pro.

I just don't believe that because you were a good fighter that makes you a good coach. Lewis had his style from both Olympics and up to his first WBC reign and he was a good fighter, it was Manny that changed him into a ATG. I don't believe wlad would be a good coach for the same reason. Lennox would be great to have for first hand experience of the big occasion and dealing with the pressure, but for strategy and tactics, I can't believe in someone who has only followed orders instead of giving them.
