Comments Thread For: Haye on Fury's Tactics: No Way Does He Last 4, 5 Rounds

Former two division champion David Haye is a man on a mission, and he hopes to knock undefeated Tyson Fury out on September 28th in Manchester. Haye wants to wrong the rights of his performance againt Wladimir Klitschko. To do so, he wants to end Fury within the distance. He doesnt see Fury being able to last more than four to five rounds.

"I underperformed that night against Wladimir," admitted Haye to Sky Sports Ringside. "It was a bad performance. It was one of those things that did not work out on the night, just like it won't work out for Fury on his big night." [Click Here To Read More]

I'd sooner see Fury win because it would set up a big fight with Wladimir. Wlad has already fought Haye so a fight with Fury (if he beats Haye) would be more interesting than another fight against Haye.

But I think Haye will likely knock Fury out in rounds 2 to 4. If Fury can make it past the 6th, he'll have a very good chance of winning, but it's unlikely he'll survive the early rounds.

I just rewatched Fury vs Chisora, vs Cunningham and parts of vs Johnson, Because damn that ******, and I've just seen now that he has absolutely no chance. When he talks up a big fight, I would like to believe to some extent that he is what he says. But he's just not. He's clumsy, slow, soft punching, fights small, has no defense, moderate offense and no concentration. His cousin Hughie is a million times better. And it's not even because I don't like Tyson, I'm actually beginning to warm to him. But I'm just comin to terms with the fact that he's just not that good.

If Fury lasts beyond 5, he stands an excellent chance of stopping Haye.

Haye is GOING to gas if he has to throw more than 15 punches a round

Like i've said before, if Tyson maintains a tight guard and puts sufficient pressure on Haye for the first 4/5 rounds, Haye will remain dangerous, but he'll lose some of his pop and begin to fatigue.

Whether Tyson is disciplined enough to follow such a game plan, however, is questionable.

Exactly!!! I am betting on the fact that Tyson follows the game plan and takes Haye into deep waters in the late rounds for a fight for the ages.

I agree, although I think Vitali would be the natural opponent for the winner, with the high WBC rankings of both and Wlad probably tied up fighting Pulev next after Povetkin. I'd rather see that fight as well. Obviously, its uncertain and perhaps doubtful that Vitali will fight anyone after Stiverne, if he even does that, so Wlad will probably end up fighting Fury Haye winner too.

Good comment, I agree. And obviously the chin questions about Fury will also be answered in this fight, one way or another.

I don't really know about that, he always gets the job done and has beaten some good opponents.

It's more the fact that Haye's style is all wrong for him which I suppose is why cherry-picker took the fight.

I would still have given him a shot if he was allowed to work the inside, but Booth will have the style of ref sewn up too.

Yes I wouldn't downgrade Fury too much and go OTT. He is world ranked now isn't he, so even if Fury is bad, the rest of the heavyweights obviously aren't up to much if Fury can be ranked.

But Haye is a step up in class for Fury so we will see soon if Fury is as good as he thinks he can be.
