Comments Thread For: Merchant Agrees With HBO For Rejecting Rigondeaux

Of course he would agree with it because just like many of these ****** ass new age boxing fans he just want to see a Brawl and a Knock Out...Merchant has always made that clear. Merchant would much rather watch Average fighters like Ward vs Gatti beat each others heads in then to see Skilled fighters in their actually using Skills and thinking before making a move.
It is all BS and it is all Politics and I think this goes further then just Boxing! You contradict yourself if your going to Keep Showing Ward and Crawford but when it comes to Rigondeaux "HE IS NOT WORTHY OF BEING ON HBO"...don't be shocked if Gamboa is next!

hbo is getting rid of boring fighters and getting tired of ppv consumers asking back the money they spent watching fraud run the whole 12 rounds.
its a business decision that hbo needs to do to make paying customers happy and satisfied.

HBO just needs to at least offer Rigo undercard fights. I don't know if he'll settle for 50K or something. That way he can fight any way he likes.
He's clearly not attracting casual fans which are the bread and butter of boxing.

All these red k posters coming with hate for Larry Merchant, but Merchant actually put his view across very well and he told it how it is.
This is professional boxing, prize fighting - people are paying to watch so there is a need to entertain.
If you don't entertain, people won't pay to watch. Simple.

Moreover, Ward has only had one fight on HBO and he dropped and stopped his opponent.Last edited by Weebler I; 07-12-2013, 09:13 PM.
