Because the Rios fight was the original plan before he lost.

Rios is also the ******er fighter (and I mean that in the best way, I ****ing LOVE Rios) and will go down in a blaze of glory, win or loose. The fight will be action packed as long as it lasts and Pacquiao will probably have a lot of hype coming off of this fight from the casual fans.

Im sure theyre worried Mike might manage to box and, even if he loses, make Pacquiao look bad in a boring fight, which would be a disaster. Theyre playing it safe and going with Rios.

Alvarado was having trouble healing his hand and Arum was not sure he would be ready to fight. Rios only lost by a small amount and his style makes for a more exciting fight with Pacquiao. I seriously doubt if Roach or Pacquiao are worried about losing to either of these fighters. He was KOed by Marquez in a fight he was winning and looking good in before the KO ending. He is still a much better fighter than either Alvarado or Rios.

Great point. This fight needs to be fireworks. Zou shiming had an audience of 300m and he's garbage. Imagine if a real prizefighter like Pac fighting at his best showing that market what a real fight looks like.

Rios is coming to fight and Pac is coming to fight, in the biggest potential market in the world.

Both these guys are dead average fighters. Rios just seems slightly more marketable.
