The Danny Garcia vs. Lucas Matthysse Prediction Thread. **ITS ON!**

He was very unlucky ... Had Garcia not whooped his ass he would've won ! ... Btw the mouthpiece shot you speak of was supposed to be the one that left Danny on the canvas convulsing while angel stood over his sons nearly lifeless body crying ... Instead he Lucas got out boxed and out slugged... He doesn't deserve a rematch... He went up against he champ and LOST ... CLEARLY... It happens.. Had luck been by his side his eye wouldn't have swolled and he could've got his jaw broke ....Comment

Due to the amount of attention, money and build up surrounding the fight, I would be surprised if both fighters didn't have a rematch clause in place.
That was the most exposure either of them has received and they put on the best fight of the card. A rematch would be a headlining event, which along with the still divided opinions, could potentially be bigger than the last one.
Unless both are planning on moving up to 147 and doing it again later, but I would favour the naturally bigger Garcia there.Comment

I saw the fight again. At first I was somewhat dismissive of the low blow factor, but after seeing the fihgt, there's no way that Danny didn't consistently aim low. in fact, it seems like was a strategy. Hit Lucas low.
What clued me in more was the fact that it began in the first round and continued to the last low blow. A good exchange had begin, then Danny CLEARLY aims extremely low, hits Lucas, and looks up at the clock. Completely done on purpose to stall Lucas.
I have no doubt that Danny is a good boxer and overall i like him in spite of his father, but i hope this isn't an issue.
I'm not saying it was a factor for sure, but there's a small possibility, though of course the bigger factor is Danny's combos and Lucas inability to deal with them.
of course, some of you are so turned off by lucas' fans that wont' acknowledge this .but how come lucas didn't hit low then?
ps the eye came on a hook, not a job. it was at a weird grazing angle, didn't actually land cleanly on Lucas; weird that it damaged then.Comment

i agree on the low blows being part of his strategy, i kept telling myself the more and more i saw hopkins around danny and in his gym that he was basically telling him exactly what he needs to do to take away Matthysse's power, this fight will never see a rematch unless Danny loses a few of his next few fights but i doubt that happens as #1, they'll match him well, #2 they have too much money invested in him (have you seen his car, gym? unreal) and #3, he has pretty good skills I have to admitComment
