Believe it or not. The boxing journalist Walter Nelson said five minutes ago on TyC Sports, at the end of his program "Golpe a Golpe: La Vida en un Puņo", that Mario Arano told him that the Garcia - Matthysse rematch has been agreed and only the date must be set.

That would be cool, although I'll be honest. I don't really believe a rematch will happen.

I couldn't look at boxing again for while after this fight. Garcia deserved to win, it was his night. But, Matthysse was desperately unlucky. From the eye, to the low-blows, to the mouthguard coming out when he had Garcia rocked, the strange knockdown etc. It just wasn't his night, tough to see him lose like that..

This. This loss stings like few have before for me. It just all seemed in place for him to break through and it just didn't happen. I hope he gets a rematch, but like you, I doubt we'll ever see it.

The TyC Sports crew covering the fights this night have just reiterated the information from Arano and added that Lucas will be able to fight again in 4 months. Matthysse's doctor told them that they did yesterday a tomography scan and the eye is not swelled anymore.

He was very unlucky ... Had Garcia not whooped his ass he would've won ! ... Btw the mouthpiece shot you speak of was supposed to be the one that left Danny on the canvas convulsing while angel stood over his sons nearly lifeless body crying ... Instead he Lucas got out boxed and out slugged... He doesn't deserve a rematch... He went up against he champ and LOST ... CLEARLY... It happens.. Had luck been by his side his eye wouldn't have swolled and he could've got his jaw broke ....

Because Mathysse will render himself irrelevant by stepping up and getting beat down ... This fight was more about what Mathysse wasn't then it was about what Danny is ... Anyone with a strap who can take a punch and is fundementally sound has a great chance at beating Lucas ... I doubt there is a down the road for "the machine" when I comes to a Garcia rematch he won't stay "undefeated" for that long..

Due to the amount of attention, money and build up surrounding the fight, I would be surprised if both fighters didn't have a rematch clause in place.

That was the most exposure either of them has received and they put on the best fight of the card. A rematch would be a headlining event, which along with the still divided opinions, could potentially be bigger than the last one.

Unless both are planning on moving up to 147 and doing it again later, but I would favour the naturally bigger Garcia there.
