That was the first time I have found Danny's work interesting and Lucas hasn't been that defensive for a while, so they bring out the best in each other.
It was a good fight warming up to be a great one before the eye injury. I am not saying the result would have been different, but the fight lost momentum for 3 - 4 rounds which was a shame.
All things considered, they were only separated by 19 (landed) punches according to compubox, which regardless of who you supported can only be a good thing for boxing fans.
Boxing needs more fight's like this.

but Matthysse just barely edged his rounds while Garcia won his rounds in one-sided fashion. And Garcia controlled the pace of the fight and where the exchanges took place, he showed better ring generalship, as soon as his back touched the ropes he either clinched or threw a quick shot and moved, he made "the machine" look very ineffective so he was the better man that night. His low blows pissed me off though.
