The last round is a perfect example, when Garcia decided to let loose the last 30 seconds or so, he didn't give a fuck, he tried to match him punch for punch

    How can u be disappointed?
He was far too tentative, even before the eye swelled. It's one thing to protect the eye, it's another to give away round after round after round. By the time he snapped out of it, it was too late. This was it, Lucas is never getting another chance on a stage like this. I'm very disappointed.

The early tentativeness was becuz he was respecting Danny's power... It showed a maturity in his mindset and shows he's not dependent on his power... He's always been a slow started, and in my opinion he was winning most of the rounds by simply outboxing Garcia before his eye swelled...

One round before his eye swelled he turned up the heat, and won a one-sided round... The next round, he comes in hard charging, then his eye starts swelling, almost closed, and that's when the fight was out his hands

He had to make an adjustment, couldn't throw the right, so he tried to depend on the left, but Garcia kept moving, kept throwing combinations, he couldn't see punches coming... Its not just Matthysse refusing to work, Garcia was making it hard for him

He did what he could, man... I don't see how u can be disappointed in him like that

So you thought Judah and Alexander hit harder than Danny... Lucas clearly isn't as dumb as y'all.

I think he respected Danny too much in the early rounds. Awful corner for Matthysse, no strategy. Someone mentioned this would be a Tyson-Holyfiled fight and in many ways it flet like that. The smarter boxer clinching often to take away the momentun, the quick shot, clinch, couple more shots, clinch. Very smart strategy by Garcia, poor answer to it by Matthysse.

Like I said, I was very wrong about this fight, and I'll take it all for however long you guys feel like dishing it. I talked a lot of ****.
I don't get how you could write off a guy like Danny so easily he's taller, a big light welterweight, has great timing and hits real hard. You guys were convinced his power was overrated by the fact that he KO'd Khan who was chinny and Morales who was shot (he really wasn't as shot as you make out), I don't care if those guys weren't primed to take a punch when you see Danny KO a guy it looks like he feels it real bad.

I warned you man, Peterson likely fought most of his career on steroids and has been knocked down by Bradley, he struggled to beat Khan when he was on the juice, and who else is there that he beat? Ajose? Mike Dallas? C'mon man I told you he ain't beat nobody. Then y'all went and called the Devon and Zab fights robberies, I don't know about that, maybe he could have won, but they weren't the most convincing wins, they weren't stand out classy wow wins if they were, and Zab and Devon are B grade guys.

Not to mention the Khan win was no fluke, he beat Zab more convincingly than Lucas, and he's naturally bigger/taller. I thought height would play a big factor in this fight, height is so important man, especially against a guy like Lucas who headhunts and lunges in, Danny's height advantage helped him see everything, he boxed beautifully, put on a clinic.

He had to respect Danny, contrary to what many of you think, he couldn't just walk through him like Peterson. Danny hits hard, and I agree they were lacking in strategy but it's always hard to outbox a guy at a height disadvantage... not to mention they did a awful job on that eye, WTF was the cutman doing. They didn't use that bruise healing thing they usually use... I just saw a dude pinching around the swelling

I'm telling you, Matthysse's corner was just awful. They didnt even HAVE a cold press (enswell) for his eye. It would have kept his eye opened, maybe even change the outcome of the fight given he fought with one eye shut because of that huge error. Not to mention, they didnt even have a strategy, just go out there and keep doing what wasnt working. Kinda sad to see a guy with as much class as Lucas go out like that. Marcos Maidana sure did the right thing and got his ass to USA for a quality team. I have no doubt, Robert would have had an enswell in his fking corner.

                      Exactly that.

I've been reading shít from the Matthysse fans saying "Matthysse COULD HAVE won if he turned the fight into a brawl and didn't respect Danny too much" and "Garcia's LUCKY Matthysse's eye swole up, cause he would have gotten KTFO if Lucas's eye was good".

Coulda shoulda woulda.. At the end of the day, Matthysse tried to fight his fight, but Garcia just shut him down, got the better of him in the exchanges and fuqd Lucas's right eye up with his left hook..
