    wow poor Alvarado.

He beat Rios and instead of getting the big payday, he gets punished.

Alvarado has always been unappreciated by Arum

Good old slugfest, Alvarado probably win with his limited but superior boxing ability.

I like this fight. I wanna see the winner of this fight the winner of Rios/Pacman.

Alvarado is gonna have to get on that horse just like Bradley did when he got touched. Only thing is I think Bradley's horse is faster than Alvarado's horse. So in the end Alvarado gets caught

          Provodnikov by late KO

This would be an excellent fight. But you have to wonder how Rios gets the big payday in a Pacquiao fight after losing to Alvarado and Alvarado gets a fight with Provodnikov. On the other hand, this is probably the only fight Alvarado has a chance to win. He would lose to Manny, JMM and Bradley. Also, this will likely be Alvarado's 3rd war in a row. Good luck to him.

                ORIGINAL PLAN
I am pretty sure it was "expected" that Rios would beat Alvarado in a rematch. The rematch would make Arum money and therefor made sense to make. Then a victorious Rios would be sellable fodder for Pacman.

                BACKUP PLAN
Pacman was knocked out. Rios lost. So sell the fight on the fact that Rios and Pacman are all action, with points to prove. Also because Rios (personality) is still a better sell for Arum than Alvarado is and this fight will still make more money than Pacman vs a victorious Alvarado.

It's all about what sells for the dollar or making dollars on a hot streak without much risk for as long as you can.

I don't think either "deserve" it MUCH more than the other. You would just think that Alvarado being the most recent winner of the Alvarado-Rios series would at least reap some benefits....if you call being thrown in the ring with Pacman (who may prove to be just fine as Marquez is his TRUE rival who shows he can handle Pacman if not outworked)

Alvarado deserves just as much credit for decisioning Rios as Rios should get for having stopped Alvarado. It should have naturally led to a rubber match. But Arum likes his steak to marinate.

The only problem is that he leaves it marinating out on the counter instead of the refrigerator...over night....in a humid house...uncovered...

Close fight before the TKO + controversial stoppage. Rematch was a clear win.
