Comments Thread For: Alvarado-Provodnikov Draws Heavy Interest From HBO

BoxingScene.com has been advised that HBO is very interested in having WBO interim-junior welterweight champion Mike Alvarado (34-1, 23KOs) face Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2, 15KOs), potentially on a televised date of October 19th. Alvarado last fought in March, where he won a close twelve round unanimous decision over Brandon Rios in their high profile rematch. Provodnikov was also last seen in action in the month of March, when he moved up to the welterweight division and nearly knocked out WBO champion Timothy Bradley. While Provodnikov came close, Bradley was able to hang on and win a razor-close twelve round decision.

Bob is taking forever to make this.
We all know Provo will fight either Abregu or Alvarado.... it's just a matter of when.
Most likely it's own event since bob never stacks his cards

Good fight. Imagine what alavarado is thinking-I beat Rios and I get manny's sparring partner while rios gets manny.

thats a good fight, only seen provodnikov against bradley but yeah, looks like an exciting fighter. i think provodnikov vs rios would have been better.

alvarado can win this basically the same way he beat rios, survive early get provo tired and he'll take the fight.

if alvarado goes to war he might get koed again.

Good matchup! Should be all action while it lasts. I'm also diggin the HBO October lineup, Cotto on the 5th, Bradley vs Marquez 12th and now possibly Alvarado vs Prov 19th.
