It is funny when Oscar talks sometimes. GBP's new business model. Try to talk up fights you will never let happen. It gives their fighters free press and creates some hype.

If GBP had a heart, they would release Quillin from his contract so he can get into the real middleweight mix, but we all know they would never let that happen. I kinda think Quillin is happy with that safety net also.

            No he doesn't...

Quillin was one of the fighters I mentioned on that thread "Which fighter will get exposed soon"

He will be one of them... I just haven't been impressed.

He looked lack luster against an old and faded Winky Wright.

Against N'jikam he knocks him down 6 times but can't finish him, and honestly he lost the rounds where he didn't knock N'jikam down, so that's not impressive.

Then against Fernando Guerrero, go look at the 5th round where Guerrero is landing left hooks at will.

I have yet to see him put together a complete performance, he's too stationary in the ring, he doesn't move well at all and his defense is questionable.

He loses to GGG, Pirog, Chavez Jr, Martinez, Martin Murray and maybe even Sturm.

He's Cuban, but he doesn't fight in that technical Cuban style either...

I agree with your breakdown of Quillens performances, but i do think he has showed improvement in each of his fights...
Still have developed the total package, but he has showed steady improvement over the past 2 years in my opinion....

Got bad news for Oscar, but GGG is the top dog at MW now, with or without Quillin. 1.1 million views on HBO vs. a sturdy Macklin. If I'm GGG, I just ignore this nonsense and look to bigger game.

They don't have too release him, Felix Sturm is not a HBO contract fighter just give him a call

I actually like Quillen over GGG as well. I'm a Gennady fan but styles make fights and I think Quillen keeps the distance boxes to a decision.
