Comments Thread For: Froch Eyes Groves Defense in Late 2013, Early 2014

According to IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (31-2, 22KOs) - Matchroom stablemate George Groves (19-0, 15KOs) is likely to be his next opponent. There is some tension between the two fighters, because Groves helped Mikkel Kessler prepare for his May rematch with Froch. The IBF has given Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn until July 17th to get a deal done. Froch feels the fight can happen this year, but more than likely it will take place in 2014.

Froch playing it smart, getting as much money in before the Ward rematch.

Apparently not done -- he seems done with Groves.

Odd fight in terms of styles. Could see it being a bit of a stinker.

He probably would have done had he gone ahead with the quite awful choice fighting Kelly Pavlik

This fight was always going to happen after Groves joined matchroom.

I thought they'd build it a little first though.
