and Edgarg - if you are fighting in your home town - would you quit? you might, we wont know. but there is a saying Russians dont give up, esp at his home town. I would of wait for the towel as well or i'd flip out bad and start cursing referee for not stepping in, Hryunov etc. I would even try to get in the fight with them. That night was horrible, Hryunov should not be able to host fights anymore, he is a crap promoter

It's only a bruise, however large and will get better with ice packs, gentle heat etc. If it was inside the skull that would of course be dangerous but it wasn't.... So what the heck.

Boxing has a long history of fighters lying about damage to their eyes in order to preserve their careers and future earnings. From Henry Armstrong to Joe Frazier to Lamon Brewster to Antonio Margarito and now Denis Lebedev.

I don't believe Lebedev had no lasting damage just because those who have a vested financial interest in his success happen to say so.

These are the same people who prevented a Doctor from stopping the fight, why would they tell you if Lebedev were permanently damaged? They would be implicating themselves.

I don't think he is a robot, more like a puppet. Everything that happened in the fight and the disregard shown for the fighter by the promoter, trainer and doctor proves my point. Lebedev is nothing but a puppet, or a piece of meat, to the Russian boxing powers.
