Things I see you need to work on:

      1) Your jab often goes out, down, back -- very easy to counter because you loop it to the floor on its way back. Needs to come straight back as quickly as it gets to the target.

      2) A few times when he rushed you, you back straight up to the ropes. Obviously that's not what you want to do, so work on footwork and angling out to either side.

      3) Keep your form inside, don't give him your gloves so he can tie you up. Keep 'em high and tight when you're close so you can work.

I liked that you took advantage of opportunities and tried to work combinations. From what we could see your conditioning was good (but obviously needs to get better). You also showed good patience in spots, didn't seem to rush yourself which a lot of novices do.

Keep it up. And, again, listen to your coach.
thanks for advice man unlike some other haters but anyways, number 3 seems like something i really need to do cause usually i like to **** it out and go to the body... this fight was an exception for some reason and i think 3 is what i really could work on the best. But they are all good and true points thanks again

Honestly, you just need alot of sparring vs very good "open" level fighters, and some guys that are slightly bigger than you.....

Keep practicing your fundamentals, especially defense, and footwork..

You showed good heart in your fight,,,

If you are just boxing for fun, i suggest getting alot of sparring each week against alot of different types of boxers if possible...

The best way to get better is to log as many rounds of sparring and competition as you can... Experience will slowly make you better if you keep training hard...

        Best of luck to you

Thanks man. Luckily for me, my gym is prob the best in my city or one of them. My coaches are really good an there are a lot of fighters in the gym. All different sizes and styles, it feels good to be training with all these fighters unlike my old gym. Only problem is sometimes theres too many of us there and it gets packed

Just keep at it,, you only have a few fights left till your open, so even if it means you take off 6 months of competing get those sparring rounds end...

              Don't do that

As for the TS, jab more, throw shorter hooks, your opponent was open to left hooks, get in and bend your knees to avoid getting tangled.

Don't listen to the haters. Keyboard warriors mostly, wouldn't glove 'em up with you if given the chance.

My best advice, which I used to give to every amateur and pro I ever worked with: "Just win this fight. Worry about looking pretty next time."

Next time I'd tell 'em the same thing.

You went in with a guy who had gotten the best of you before and you beat him. That's a good thing.

                      Im in blue corner

Here is my 7th fight. I fought this guy last fight and lost a split decision although I thought I won the first. This guy is from my old gym so they got some bad blood for me. They gloated about the first one on twitter so i challenged to a rematch they said sure, then they were supposed to do it on my gyms card they blew me off. Then finally it happened on their card. So i went back to my old gym to fight him.

The camera guy kinda ******, he missed a bunch of good combos in the second where I snapped the guys head back. Then in the third it was similar to the second I landed some good 3 punch combos... only problem is my camera died after about 45 seconds in the third. Then with 20 seconds left he gave me a HUGE overhand left which buckled my knees, dropped my hands then he followed up with two more, the ref gave me a standing 8 but I held on for victory.

By the way the point deduction had no impact on the scorecards, I checked.

                      Tell me what you think.
Man I was all juiced for this fight then I saw dude in red throw those pitter patter shots at the beginning of the first round and died laughing. I wish I could have warped into the scene as a black chick and dropped a "oh heeeeeell naw!" on that cat. Anyway not bad, you landed a great straight right and then started good head movement toward the end of the first round, try and move like that for most of the round if you are conditioned enough. Missed most of the second because my attention span required me to go grab a bleezy and a beer, kinda disappointed though to be 100 like a C-note, since I know you as this toe to toe poster with a Maidana avi I thought you would come out with a Maidana like style!

Anyway there is a good section on BoxingScene for training and tips this vid would also get good comments in, I am in there often.
