OK this is just speculation on my part,, I am too lazy to put in all the links, but these have been stated previously
It has been confirmed that GBP was talking to Dana White and UFC, Oscar had a meeting with him awhile back...
GBP also had a meeting with Vince Mcmahon of wwe, probably about this year's Summerslam in LA, and trying to get their fighters involved somehow much like Floyd did a few years ago, probly not to wrestle but be involved for exposure for guys like ortiz, lucas, broner would be perfect,,,
Vince and Dana have yearly meetings about ppv and merchandising and building a brand like vince has done with wwe.... Dana basically picking his brains...
Now there is talk of UFC and Roy jones doing something, and rumor has it, it will be a UFC sponsored boxing ppv headlined by jones-silva, much like how roy has done his own small time shows vs lacy, sheika etc but this time with UFC $$$ and power behind it....
It got me thinking that with all these power brokers in their respective areas, UFC, GBP, and WWE could join up and start their own boxing league much in the same vein as UFC has done with MMA..
They would start their own boxing league, and follow UFC's model of being promoter with the belts, instead of relying on corrupt sanctioning bodies such as WBA, WBC, Etc....
They would freeze the sanctioning bodies out, and with the combined cash and marketing power of GBP, UFC, WWE they could no doubt start signing guys up..
GBP already has most of the top champions like floyd, canelo, so recruiting guys especially if they know that these companies are behind it, should be easy.. Yes they wouldnt be able to land top rank guys or guys from other promoters, but every free agent would come their way... They already have TV exposure with SHowtime....
I honestly think over the next decade this could happen....
