Can someone clarify Cotto's promotional situation?

After Cotto became a free agent I thought he signed himself to Cotto Promotions and he would be able to co-promote with any other promoter. Did Golden Boy and then Top Rank make him sign a contract that says he can only copromote his fights with them?

Seeing as how he's signed to himself I figured he can co promote with whoever be it top rank, golden boy, dibella, goosen tutor etc.

I'm also confused if he signed a new deal with HBO to fight ALL his fights exclusively for them or if he just signed with them for that one Rodriguez fight in Florida.

*** it im glad my man Cotto is comin back to make even more millions.

no he didn't sign with golden boy or top rank, they just co-promote like gbp does with mayweather.

yes he can co-promote with whoever he wants, which is why top rank will co-promote his next fight after gbp co-promoted his last couple of fights.

I'm also confused if he signed a new deal with HBO to fight ALL his fights exclusively for them or if he just signed with them for that one Rodriguez fight in Florida.
don't know if he signed a multi-fight deal or not. I'm assuming its the Rodriquez fight and one more(Bradley/jmm winner? pacquiao rematch?)

I think he is doing the floyd mayweather plan, in which you are constantly a free agent and can do fight by fight with either GBP and TR,,, Right now cotto is going with hbo and TR,, But he is a free agent which lets him control his own destiny....
      Good For Cotto

How much did he get paid for the Trout fight? I thought it was under 1 mil?

I'm not sure how much his purse will be for his next fight but I don't expect much

            It was 1 million to Trout's 240k.
Yea he still got money, but HBO would have thrown more at him

He needs to look impressive against Rodriguez, which he should. Then fight the Bradley-Marquez winner, like they have planned. Cotto-Marquez will do damn good PPV numbers for two guys not named Floyd or Manny.

Cotto-Marquez could be a FOTY. Both of them determined and in shape to win a fight would produce explosion in the ring given styles.

yeah HBO pays more than showtime so he will get more than what he got for the trout fight.

And they're past it just enough to where they're going to get hit with a lot. I'd have to attend this if it's made.
