If it holds true after the layoff Cotto will take the Molina fight and if he wins come down in weight slowly or maybe a 150 lb catchweight.

Might as well face a guy like Molina because Marquez or Bradely are more skilled than him. Molina only has size. I hope it all pans out to a Cotto/Marquez or Bradley at 147

Wow....just imagine, Bradley could have: Pac, Cotto, JMM, Peterson, Abregu, Provid, Alexander all as wins on his resume. The guy is going to be running this sport before long and will be one of those old fashion "built from scratch" PPV stars

Look what happened to Bradley after coming back in his tuneup against Provonikov. Tuneups are important. Especially if you lost your last fight.

Three things that are exciting about this:

Just the potential matchup Cotto vs either Bradley or Marquez is awesome.

I think he beats both unless he is more diminished than I thought.

Roach and Cotto combination, say what you want about Roach he is a great trainer especially if you can punch, he brings out the best in you.

Maybe this means we will see Cotto pair up with Alex Ariza to see if they can revitalize Cotto's stamina and speed. The guy is plenty strong he just needs to regain some speed and endurance and if he can do 147 he would be a monster again.

I think JMM would be willing to fight Cotto at a catchweight for a jr MW belt to make history for Mexicans.

Exactly my point! Cotto was coming off a loss to Floyd, which he did pretty decent, and then fought Trout who's style is all wrong for him, and then lost to Trout. If Cotto didn't lose to Trout, he'd have gotten the huge payday against the Ginger. So tune ups count, but you gotta fight the right opponent. If Cotto is gonna have a tune up at 154 to get rid of any ring rust or keep busy, he should fight someone moving up from 147. Cotto vs Ortiz or Berto, or even Guerrero. Those are fights that Cotto could still win and still get paid for decently. But fighting Molina??? I don't see the upside.

Bradley and Marquez are good fights for a diminished Cotto. Marquez will be undersized and Bradley doesn't have the power to do anything to Cotto. Actually, these pair of fights is less risky than fighting Ortiz or Berto, who are both pretty big for WW, but both at least have power that Cotto might not want to deal with at this time of his career.

Roach and Cotto combination, say what you want about Roach he is a great trainer especially if you can punch, he brings out the best in you.
Cotto is Cotto. Cotto changing trainers doesn't mean anything. He's just giving gamblers and his fans a change so that they think Cotto will be revamped.

I doubt Cotto will get his stamina and speed back with Ariza. He'll need to get them Memo power pellets for that.

If Cotto can make 147, that would be for the best. I never thought Cotto was a great 154 lbser.

Both these fights can be made at a catchweight. I think Bradley has the frame to make 154 (he looked like Rick Ross in promotional pics with JMM), but he might lose some footspeed and stamina. But JMM would probably come in against Cotto very light, and with the Memo power pellets, you never know, JMM might blast out Cotto too.

Don't worry, Memo will inject some super soldier serum into JMM.

What about PAC?? Who does he fight after rios??? If he rios wins its over for PAC and I guess rios can fight Alvarado again n then I can see Cotto fighting the winner of JMM Bradley but i don't think rios is gonna beat Pacquiao.

I hope that's true. I think Roach would be a good trainer for Cotto and those are two good fights for him.

                    Is Cotto/Molina a done deal?

No, not even being negotiated, according to the Molina camp. Molina is mandatory for the Ishe Smith title and that fight has been postponed.
