His tendency to shield up on the ropes would get him in trouble and he's not exactly fleet footed. Macklin looks faster on his feet.

If it was Golovkin hittinmg him instead of Sturm he wouldnt have stayed on his feet. Also styles make fights and whilst his steady pressure worked well vs the movement of Matrinez is is exactly the wrong thing to do against Golokin. Youd have to be ****** to try and walk Golovkin down but I think even if he does try it, after a round or 2 he will be forced onto the backfoot himself as the one with the firepower will dictate how the fight is fought and thats GGG
There are 2 ways I think you can beat GGG, first you either outbox him Andre Ward style but you need the technical ability to do that and the body to do that, second you HAVE to back him up because fighting GGG on the Backfoot is suicidial because he is very good at cutting off the ring.

That is what he needs to work on, personally I see him doing better than Macklin.

Murray does'nt have the style to beat Golovkin you would need the skills of Mayweather which Murray does'nt have. Golovkin for me is the most devastating puncher since Mike Tyson, he will not have to look for Murray and as strong as Murray is he will be stopped inside of 5 rounds.

Murray is free to talk, because he feels he's somehow "safe" -- as he has "visa issues" which prevents him from coming to the U.S.
Just wait and see if Murray would eventually try to lure GGG in the UK. If I shall hear this, I'll believe he really wants to take the fight.

I had forgot about his VISA problems.
No chance that this get's made in the US then. I'd love to see GGG over here, hopefully this gets made at the MEN arena or the O2

Murray isn't worried about anyone, let's be honest.

The guy has travelled to Germany and Argentina to fight two world champs in his biggest fights (robbed against Sturm and an either-way fight with Sergio). He'll take any fight that makes sense and he'll give anyone a difficult night. He's a big MW who won't be bullied around.

Yes any punch can change the course of a fight , I just think that Murray does not pack the power to discourage Gennaddy. Macklin if anything is a bigger puncher and Golovkin walked him down. I think Murrays ko rate is only around 50% so Id be shocked if he had the power to keep Gennady from walking him down

                  Ray -

Yes fighting off the backfoot appears to be suicidal against GGG because of how good he is at cutting off the ring but you cant really advise anyone to take the fight to Golovkin either cuz thats insane. The same question was posed to Murray and Barker in the studio and their response was to arm yourself with a cricket bat.

On a serious note they know its hard to envision what will work vs a guy like GGG. I think teh guy that beats him wont be necassarily have to be either a slick mover or a guy with power who pushes GG back. It could just be a guy with great fundamentals who isnt intimidated who like Tyson GG is begining to beat guys before they get in there.

I agree on Murray honesty... I'm worried about his handlers, though...
