I think Lewis beat Holyfiled both times quite clearly. I had the second fight 2 rounds for Lennox. Mercer fight was much closer IMO. I actually had Mercer being closer of taking that one.

Lennox combined many great things that not many did. He had a great resume, some great wins (beat them all) and he retired on the top. That's quite rare in any division.

Regarding H2H I have prime Ali clearly beating him. Wlad/Foreman - Lennox is 50:50 for me. Vitali is pretty close as well but I would favor Lennox. Tyson is a strange one. Very prime Tyson would be a big trouble for both Lennox or Wlad. I doubt he wouldn't land at least once and it might be enough. I would actually give a better chance to Vitali of beating very prime Tyson.

You thought he won clearly but only won by 2 rounds? So if only one of those close rounds went to Holyfield it would have been a draw on your card. Sounds reasonably close to me.

The second fight was quite obviously a close fight. It could have easily been scored for Holyfield and like I said, plenty had Holyfield winning. More thought Lewis won and that's understanable but it absolutely was a close fight.

Fighters have off nights sometimes, sometimes thy have great nights, there's no one that Lewis couldn't beat on his night and there's several fighters that could beat him on there night.

Although you are not saying it-you are coming thisclose to suggesting Lewis has a better chance to lose to average and 2nd tier HWT's than he does top tier ATG's because he'd take all of the ATG's seriously but fight to the level of or not take the 1st group seriously.

The problem is you will fight more of the fisrt group than the 2nd.

its just that his best form is in some way determined by who he is fighting. Its almost like if Lennox fought Ali (after he beat foreman or frazier) Lennox beats him but if he fought Cassius clay (before he beat Liston) well he wouldn't take it seriously and probably lose.

In that sense he's not as consistent as the other great HWT's in their prime-which suggests he isn't the best and maybe wouldn't beat them.

Lennox fought a little to lackadaisical to be considered the best ever I think. A big pucher prime for prime like foreman or even tyson would probably have a good shot at ko'ing him I think. Even A klitsko. Tyson was way past his best when they fought. Ray Mercer took it to him
