I think getting rid of them altogether is a better solution. force weight restrictions. I think it would stimulate competition in boxing as a whole.

That's great. If you're forcing somebody to come under the weight limit for a title fight that's a ***** move but if you offer an incentive not a demand for an infight advantage you can defensively argue the catchweight away.

What about catchweight bonuses? For example, Floyd offer a 3 milli bonus if Canelo comes in at 152 instead of demanding 152 with a 3 milli penalty. If catchweights were done like that I don't think they would have the negative connotation that they do.

The negative concoction is because of not understanding what they actually do to a certain fighter , in here its just a number , its like PEDS in this forum its now everybody with muscles in on them , just like CWs its an automatic draining , reality is its fans arguing not boxing people chatting .
