Golovkin makes offer to Martin Murray for November 2 in the US
According to sources in Russia, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0) has made an offer to St. Helen's world title challenger Martin Murray (25-1-1) to fight on November 2 in New York.

Golovkin's manager Oleg Hermann said: "As a next opponent, Gennady wants Murray.

"We have already made an offer to Martin. The only problem is his unresolved issues with a US visa. If he will deal with this and would be willing to meet with Gennady, we are happy."

It is understood that the fight date had been agreed with US broadcasters HBO.

Murray, 30, lost a contentious points decision to Sergio Martinez in Argentina back in April - the only defeat of his career, while Golovkin's murderous punching power halted Brit Matthew Macklin's challenge in the third round on the weekend.

        I wonder why not Chavez?
Want to make a big statement, take that big ole lump out.
Although beating Murray would be a sufficient thing to have on the record, I don't think Murray has ever fought a monstrous puncher like him though.
Total different story, could see Murray being took out.

Chavez is fighting Vera in September.

Murray will take this fight provided the money is right. No one wants to get good boy'd for peanuts.

Bro Chavez is not fighting golovkin off a year lay off and I don't even think Chavez can make 160 which is why he's fighting Vera at a 164 catchweight and why he's willing to fight ward.

Maybe Chavez as the fight after, since he will have more exposure by then.

Regardless as long as the pay is right Murray has no reason to decline. He has said he was open to facing the winner of Golovkin vs Macklin, although in the post-fight discussion on Sky Sports he looked a bit shook by the thought, he knows Golovkin is a big deal and has a good chance at handing him a L.

Ahh I never knew that I just had read somewhere saying he still felt he could of made 160, never knew he was fighting and never knew it was at catchweight!!
That's crazy, thanks for info but.
