Strength, endurance, pain tolerance, confidence... The only thing it won't give you is brains. I would say the biggest advantage is the pain tolerance. How many straight lefts did Marquez eat before putting Manny to sleep? How many other guys you saw taking those shots and were still standing? Probably shocked Manny into ******ity!

Yes to all of the above. When you look at super human performance in sport that is what you are most likely looking at. PEDs can turn a great athlete into a super human one.

I'll throw my quids worth into this to try and clear things up.

Before I started boxing I did mostly weight training and bodybuilding. Steroids/Peds whatever you may call them can be used in many different ways. For bodybuilders they are used for recovery of the muscles that need repairing after a workout and provide extra protein synthesis. This leads to much a better recovery rate and more muscle development. Now in a boxers case since size isn't really a big factor, steroids they would generally use would be the likes of ****** and Winstrol.

Starting with Winstrol, this steroid is widely renown for it's effects on giving the body a hard and cut look, it's strength is not very effective and neither is it beneficial for any performance gains. It would actually be of very little benefit for a boxer unless he wanted a rock hard looking physique and a couple of pounds in mass. It's one of the most popular steroids available due to it's results in such a short space of time.

******, now this one here is the one the who boxers would favour. ****** is very beneficial in terms of lowering bodyfat levels, and shedding body mass while ultimately providing the user with a gradual yet noticeable amount of power and strength gains. It is perfect for a boxer who is looking to train harder in any aspect, wether its strength or stamina. It also provides some muscle definition that can remain upto 6 months after using it.

Now I hope that clears things up, there are obviously other forms of steroids available and HGH (Human growth hormone, very effective in reducing bodyfat levels and increasing muscle rapidly). If I could bet boxers who shed weight at a abnormal rate pre fight to really drop the pounds I would say Clenbuterol is what they are using. This is not really a steroid, and does not provide any strength or stamina gains, however the rate of which your body burns fat is incredible and this ultimately leads to boxers making weight. (This is not a miracle drug, it does require a certain amount of time to take effect).
