He's not quite a shell, but he is no where near his former glory. Instead of being a contender, he's more of a gatekeeper now. He can beat all but the best of the competition.

Oh and to the guy who said his fight against margarito is what made them a fan. I hear you, I was a fan before that fight, by about a decade, but that fight was absolutely amazing. (the first one anyway) its sad that it is a bit tainted, but it was an absolutely magnificent fight.

Cotto is still a great fighter, but he's not a 154lber. He was at his best at 147and I don't think he wants to make the extra effort to go down to ww anymore. His punches are simply not as effective at 154.

I agree. He's best at 147. Hopefully he's looking to get the winner of Bradley vs Marquez or a rematch against Pacquiao.

I think this is Cotto's best move right now..Go to Bob with hat in hand..He made his money with Mayweather..Go to Bob and clean up before he's retired..There are still plenty of fights for him with TR,and HBO pay's better then Showtime..

He's probably still mad at Showtime. I recall him leaving the ring while Jim Gray was interviewing Trout in the post fight. He's clearly angry. I don't know.

Sad but true, I wish he would just retire. All you gotta do is watch his fights pre Pacquiao and compare them to post Pacquiao and the difference is like night and day.

The sad part is when his wife said he should retire, then cotto said "This is all I know." Boxing is his life so I doubt he will.
