Praise for surviving the rounds with the injury but getting caught in the first place by those right hands that put him down shows us he has no chance of going much further in the game.
Whatever he is doing is not working so it is time either to rethink his career or go back and find a trainer or the motivation to do what it takes to beat guys the level of a Daniel Diaz.
No chance of going much further in his career? Do you realize how old this kid is?

I've hurt my ankle worse than that, and it was a ***** to even try to put weight on it. Amazing the toughness guys like Marroquin and Bradley exhibit in the ring, let alone risking your life every fight.

When I done my ligaments playing football (soccer) my foot looked identical. I heard a tearing sound, went down like a b*tch and couldn't get back up to put any weight on it. Spend 6 weeks on the sofa with my leg in a plastic boot. Albeit a boxing shoe give more support that what I was wearing but pretty impressive to carry on with that IMO.

It's swollen but I'm not sure that's a 3rd degree sprain. Last year I was going through a hard time and unfortunately got several injuries including a broken thumb, a 1st degree sprain on my right ankle and a 2nd degree sprain on my left ankle.

When I got my 2nd degree sprain my foot just "rolled" and I felt the ligaments over stretching and my foot losing a lot of strength. Still I was able to walk back home only to realize that I had to go to the hospital. When I got there I couldn't put weight on my foot anymore and I had to use crutches and a plastic thing on my foot for some time.

I got to say that this injury looks a lot like mine and the symptoms also make me believe that this was only a partial torn of his ligaments and is not as bad as it might seem. With a 3rd degree sprain the pain is unbelievable and the torn ligaments won't even let you stand up when you get that injury.

Still it is a very problematic injury since usually the treatment is to use crutches for like a month and then start walking slowly. Usually it takes 2 months to start training again, however it's very common to feel like the foot never completely healed.

Respect to Marroquin for finishing the fight despite the injury. Hope he heals up and avenges the loss soon.

My point is "If nothing changes, nothing changes"! Marroquin just lost to a unranked 19-5 fighter, he also has a loss to a 15-5 fighter. The way it's going, more loses are to come. Time to change something or everything will continue the way it is. And in my opinion it is not going well.

That being the case, I do hope he recovers from the injury and wish him well whatever he does.
