As to Stevenson, he apparently vacated his mandatory challenger spot. No, I don't understand it either.
Didn't they spar together, Froch and Edwin? Possibly in multiple camps? Froch seemed to like the guy

What I don't get is why the IBF made July 10th the cut-off date? how do they decide, and why wouldn't they offer an extension?

On Oosthuizen, he looked crap at the weekend but he's big and durable and looks like could take a better beating than Groves.

Froch vs Groves will sell out the O2 and is easy to make, it will happen like it or not
What do you think of the match-up? I think it'll be a much-hyped waste of time.

They did, Rodriguez apparently fared well.

What does it matter if Rodriguez loses at LH? Does that affect the rankings at a lower weight?

Rodriguez has a fight planned in July, this bout with Froch is months away.

I don't want to see Groves v Froch, GG will get destroyed. It's a waste of date late in Froch's career. I'm not even certain GG would beat Mack who went 8 rds with Cloud.

I give groves more of a chance than most do, froch struggles against movement and groves can move, I suspect Booth will send him in with a Dirrell-esque gameplan.

At this stage of his career froch has earned one or two "easy" ones so I don't have a huge issue with it

Looking at the article Groves and Froch got until the 12 of july to come to an agreement, Rodriguez fight the 13 of the same month so I suppose that the cut off date. Seem to me like he got passed over for an hometown fight but as I say I don't really understand ranking something.

Well on paper Groves isn't an easy one, #7 at SMW (Ring), #8 (TRB) so Froch will get credit for it...

...but I don't expect anything other than Groves getting dropped and stopped inside 6 or 7 rounds max.

Froch/Groves will do big numbers in the U.K. and I guarantee you that HBO will pick up this fight even if they never brought up Groves. Froch does get ratings and is known in the boxing viewing circles, maybe even better than Ward due to his base in the U.K. After that Froch/Kessler 3 can happen and then Ward/Froch 2 would be my guess.

Ward will get his tune-up fight very soon, then I think he'll face Lucian Bute win or lose against Pascal (I believe he'll win.) then possibly Adonis Stevenson followed by Ward/Froch 2 and after that for Ward it'll be the big PPV match-up with Julio Caesar Chavez, Jr.

A Bute bout has no credibility if he loses to Pascal. I think Ward's aiming for Chavez Jr. on cinco de mayo, he mentioned that before.

I don't think the fight will go ahead... Not for now anyway because Hearns wouldn't want his number 2 supermiddle to lose and put him on the backfoot and in sparring George readily admits that Froch put him down to the floor.

George is also the number 1/2 ranked in WBC and WBO so I'd possibly see Froch going up against Bika for WBC with George fighting someone else for vacant IBF or fighting Bika himself.

I love this fight! maybe 1 fight to early for Groves but he will give Froch a better fight then people think.
