It almost seems like they used this as an excuse.
The fight is sold out & they were probably not too excited about going to Phoenix. You should just take a vacation and come out to LA and see the press, It would be worth it because theirs so much to do out here in Southern California

Yup, I can see that. They probably came up with a choice between only doing one for tuesday and choose LA for obvious reasons. i'm pissed man. I knew it was to good to be true that they would come to little ol Phoenix.

The death of 19 fire fighters in the line of duty really is a tragic event. The fire fighters live in a permanent state of war.

Little?? Is the 6th largest city with a huge mexican population. The firefighters are up in the north where it isn't 111 degrees.

I live in the city these boys and their family live(d). This is a huge deal in Arizona right now, the worst loss of fire fighters lives in Arizona since 1930. Right now the entire state is paying tribute to these brave men and their families, and the bodies are in Phoenix undergoing mandatory autopsies. I think it's a pretty big deal. The Az Govenor is here and even the President has weighed in.

What's even worse is that ****ed up group of so called Christians, Westboro Baptist Church (they don't represent Christians to me) are heading here for the memorials. They've already posted their intent. This town is not going to sit lightly for their ****ed up ideals of degrading fallen heroes.

I think they didn't come here because it was 117° over the weekend. The firefighting tragedy was horrible but honestly, I only know one person who even mentioned it. It's not like the city is mourning, sorry to say.
It's too bad they didn't pass through because phoenix is big and there's a lot of money following out here.

The city of Phoenix isn't in mourning because it happened in another county, but that's not really relevant. This county, unlike Phoenix, is filled with forrests, which is what these Hot Shot firemen risk their lives (litterally) doing daily to protect it from spreading and taking out the homes and lives around them. Just weeks before this there was another huge fire (Doce) that threatened thousands of homes in our city and put hundreds of people in shelters, but these young men were instramental in containing that fire with no homes or lives lost. They weren't so lucky just weeks later. Yarnell is a small town and it has virtually been wiped out, with over 250 homes being burned to the ground and the fire is still at zero containment. It might not seem like much to you, but this is something that happens to a large part of this state pretty much year round. This fire was started by lightning from the monsoons storms. The entire state of Arizona isn't one big desert as many seem to think.

This is a huge ARIZONA tragedy, whether it hit your city or not. To say losing 19 firefighters in your own state (which btw the majority of these men were in their 20's) isn't that big of a deal because no one you know has mentioned it, seems a little naive to say the least. I highly doubt that the weather being too hot is the real reason they didn't come to town, as you seem to think.

I also wanted to mention that the entire Hot Shots team (the only one of its kind in the state) was only comprised of 20 men, 19 of which are now dead. Only one man survived the unit, he was working in another area and had gone to get a vehicle. I can't imagine the weight on that one mans shoulders. RIP to the men that died trying to protect other peoples lives, burning to death has got to be one of the most horrific ways to die.
