  • Comments Thread For: Gonzales on Oosthuizen Draw, Virgil Hunter’s Whispering

Brandon Gonzales spoke to BoxingScene.com/CSNBayArea.com following his controversial draw with Thomas Oosthuizen last Saturday on HBO.

Gonzales (17-0-1, 10 KOs) entered the super middleweight tilt with Oosthuizen (21-0-2, 13 KOs) a lightly regarded underdog, but the Sacramento, Calif., native shed his relative obscurity with a solid performance that had most observers pegging him the winner after 10 rounds. This writer agreed with HBO unofficial scorer Steve Weisfeld, who had Gonzales ahead 96-94. [Click Here To Read More]

Before people say stuff about Goosen not being there I think it's because of prince. There's an issue between him n Goosen n it's looking as if he's beefing with the actual fighters.

Anyone saying they had this 95-95 is crazy..I'd seen the Thomas the gun posters on here and was curious about him and hoping he'd put on a show..all he did was try to keep distance between him and Gonzalez..by round either it was a 6-2 fight in favor of Gonzalez..somehow outlanding your opponent in 2 of the last four rounds equals a draw..fact is that draw was called because both guys are undefeated and it keeps both careers alive but Thomas lost that fight.

Gave Brandon the first 5 rounds. Then gave Tommy the last 5 rounds.

A couple close ones that you can argue for Brandon to give him the fight by one or two points.

But I stand by the draw.

Brandon won. 96-94 is how I had it. Not that impressed with Oosthuizen. It's crazy that people here were hyping him up as being able to beat Andre Ward.

                  Uh, no.

I also had the first 5 for BG and the last 5 for TO.

Turnedup, which of the last 5 rounds did TO unarguably not win and, with reference to more than CompuBox, why?
