What I don't get about these supposed boxing fans who will go to any lengths to discredit someone as a potential opponet for Floyd is their reluctance to provide us with an alternative opponet.

Floyd's got like 3 fights left after Canelo, the welterweight division is ****ing terrible right now, so who else would you rather see him close out his career against if not guys like Matthysse and Golovkin? Which 3 opponets out there are better skilled, more deserving opponets for Floyd than those two guys?

    Please, enlighten me.

Agree with everything you said but wheres all the lobbying for GGG to move up? Floyd and Broner dominate their divisions you hear it then. You already have the top draw (Froch) at 168 on board with making the fight. Wheres the consistency? I dont have a problem with GGG staying at 160 if he can get Chavez Jr. But just on Friday there was a thread that listed GGG purse for Saturdays fight and everybody was outraged he was only making 300,000. OK so now you have the top draw knocking. Make the fight what's the problem?

          lucas m get's a tune up at 147 that's a fair fight.

a mw draining himself to fight a ww isn't fair but i guess you call for unfair fights when your desperate enough.

Why would people be lobbying for Golovkin to move up in weight when he has the potential to make the best fight in the sport right now against Floyd by staying where he is?

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but GGG fans have no problem with it. Hell, I welcome Gennady going to 168 in the meantime to murder Froch. Just don't try to use his destruction of a legit super middleweight as a reason why the Floyd fight shouldn't happen afterwards, because you guys (Floyd fans) asked for it beforehand.

"Desperate" has nothing to do with it. This is a combat sport. Real fans demand that the best fight the best. That's why you don't see Golovkin fans making excuses as to why he should or shouldn't fight anybody. Hell, he said he'd go to 175 to fight Hopkins, FFS.

Floyds not even the top draw anymore. Its Canelo right? Thats all ive been hearing since the press tour began. Besides Floyds with Showtime now. HBO is not giving up GGG. The biggest fight that can be made today is Froch and hes interested. Why pass on that for a Floyd Mayweather pipe dream?

The only people who are saying Canelo is the top draw in this fight are Canelo fans. Everybody else knows that Floyd is king as far as numbers go. Still, the lackluster sales of the Guerrero fight proved that even kings need a good dance partner. Canelo is obviously a much better sell than Guerrero ever was.

I didn't say Golovkin should pass on Froch. I'm cool with him beating Froch down in his next fight while Floyd rests up from the Canelo fight. You are most likely right about this being a pipe dream, though. ****** network and promotional rivalries are going to be what kills this potential fight of the decade from happening.

According to that thread, it was a CW fight. Nobody countered and said it wasn't ... I didn't remember it being one way or the other.
