When were they ready for it? This article is June 2013. GGG first fight on HBO was Sept 2012. Ward fought Dawson on HBO in Sept 2012. Ward was supposed to fight Pavlik in Jan 2013 but he had to have shoulder surgery because rehabbing the shoulder wasn't working. So are you telling me they offered Ward a fight when they knew he was scheduled to fight Pavlik in Jan? Then came back 5 months later and said they weren't looking to fight Ward? At our meeting with HBO they asked us whether we are ready to box. You know our answers - I said yes, you said no. You said something about your shoulder or promoter - I'm not interested in the reason, I only heard your "no." But you remember that HBO said then that they would need a long time to build-up the fight. Then what the **** are you talking about excuses?"Comment

Russian Interview before was all correct, not the latest UK Interview https://t.co/U74aYpmMwY

Now Gennady apparently heard about this Ward interview and didn't take it too kindly. Golovkin replied to AllBoxing.ru, which I'm now translating from Russian to English (because it's worth it) - so please bear with me:
"Hey, Ward, wake up! Why are you talking trash about other people? Speak for yourself. If you're trying to make a name for yourself by mentioning me to build up your own fight, then be a man about it and tell the truth. At our meeting with HBO they asked us whether we are ready to box. You know our answers - I said yes, you said no. You said something about your shoulder or promoter - I'm not interested in the reason, I only heard your "no." But you remember that HBO said then that they would need a long time to build-up the fight. Then what the **** are you talking about excuses?"
"If you do provocative attacks, do not even think that Loeffler [Gennady's K2 promoter] will buy into them. You haven't been interesting to anyone for a long time, so he will no longer engage in the promotion of your name. Go and build your own image. Although everyone already knows what you are, and because of this, they do not go to your fights."
"You shouldn't worry about who I'm going to box or have boxed. You, like the rest, were lucky with the "Super Six" tournament because you got your opponents by contract. And who are you fighting now? The fourth-fifth ranked fighters in England...If I say that I'm ready to box any middleweight and ready to rise to 168 for a big fight, then I am responsible for the words. And I have nothing left to discuss with you. As a man, you are dead to me."Comment

Ward announced his fight with Pavlik on November 27th 2012 He announced it would be postponed on Dec. 6th. and he would be out most of 2013 due to rehab. The fight with Chad Dawson was announced June 21st 2012 GGG made his HBO debut against Proska which was announced July 17th. There's a very short window of opportunity for a so called fight to be offered. You said early 2013. He was hurt that' why he delayed the Pavlik fight which was supposed to still happen later in the year.Comment

The problem is this debate is spread across like four different threads at least and has to do with Jacobs not wanting to fight Golovkin. The poster switches from one excuse to the next and has to use Andre Ward as justification, bumping three year old Ward threads as some sort of proof that he's right Jacobs is perfectly OK with ducking the fight. I mean hey, let's forget they are both middleweights and Jacobs is in a mandatory position to Golovkin and Ward vs Golovkin was two different weight classes. It's cool though, smart business pays off.Comment

Golovkin ducked Ward it's so damn obvious. These people arguing he didn't are exactly why people believe his fan base are ****** and mostly ex pac turds.Comment

He surrendered his 168 lineal belt after insisting on 161 for a defense vs mando Ward? Wait, they sent a 50/50 on weight and money trial balloon, no bite. That's a very generous deal for a bigger B sider like Ward.eComment

They didn't send anything, that was a suggestion Loeffler made after they had already turned down the fight and said maybe 2017. Golovkin flat out ducked Ward.Comment
