I don't want Martinez to fight Golovkin

I feel like Adrian talking to Rocky before Drago at the top of the steps...

and I love Martinez...but his physical abilities are diminished and after his recent injuries and inactivity due to them, I feel like Golovkin would brutally retire Martinez and I don't want to see that shiet.

A few years ago though, Martinez boxes circles around Golovkin and never lets him get off.

    GGG would impale Martinez.

Martinez would be out for another 14 months due to the injuries incurred by GGG, not some ****** crap like a broken hand or injured knee.

But as long as Sergio is The true lineal champ his obligation is to fight the best, or retire.

And don't be so sure Sergio of a few years ago beats him. Sergio never fought a guy that can cutt off the ring so effectively and applies such smart pressure. Pavlik and Williams aren't as smart nor did they hit as hard (and both knocked him down).

I think the Martinez who beat P. Will and Pavlik could beat Golovkin or give him some trouble but the 2013 Sergio Martinez is not the 2010 Sergio Martinez. I agree career-wise he's got a whole lot to lose by fighting Golovkin, and a built-in excuse of his age and knee-injuries for wanting to take it easy in his last career fight. He's been talking about fighting Cotto, I wouldn't mind seeing that and having both men retire immediately afterwards.

like NAT and Russian said, if you're the champ you have an obligation

fight or give up the belt

at 40yrs old, he can't pull a floyd and retire until the threats go away

If I was Serg I would let money talk. If they were offering more money for GGG then I would take it. But it would have to be substantially more money than anybody else out there. Because a defestating loss could could end Sergs career. So the deal would have to be really sweet.

I feel where the op is coming from alright, but neither do i want him to keep fighting for the next two years or so without meeting GGG in that time cause that will just be blatant ducking. Looking at that Murray performance maybe it's just time for him to hang up the gloves. What's wrong with going out with a win?
