If skills pay the bills, why does Mayweather need a catchweight for the ginger?

if mayweather wants to achieve true greatness he will try to win the middleweight title against a guy like ggg after he likely crushes martinez. just like Leonard did with marvelous marvin

LMAO that's what noobs who haven't boxed usually say. SIZE does matter you idiot if both are close in skill level. Golovkin has over 400 amateur and pro fights is an elite pro. It's not even a knock on floyd because I don't think it is a fair match up. golovkin is just too big and skilled for him.

GGG weighs less than Canelo on fight night, and is willing to go down to 154. Why would they need to fight at MW.

If Floyd's down to fight Canelo, then GGG should be no problem.

Obviously I don't expect him to fight him, and I don't really blame him. I wouldn't wanna get KTFO either.

It's about power and control. He's not gonna let an unproven scrub dictate the weight.

not quite...leonard waited til marvin was passed prime and had taken a few beatings before he fought him, the most notable being the mugabi one, in which leonard was actually a commentator for. and even then leonard was a whole lot bigger and younger than floyd is now, its a hard comparison to make.

                  Right. Of course.

Posters like you are why there are so many people that have accused Mayweather of ducking middleweights on this site. Size matters. I don't care how skilled Mayweather is, a middleweight who hits like a Mack truck and has the skill to deliver that power will beat a welterweight.

mayweather is a welterweight. a great welterweight, but still a welterweight. golovkin is a middleweight champion with power that hurts cruiserweights (afolabi.) golovkin would win and it's not a fight that i feel mayweather is obligated to take anyway.

                      Why can't Canelo fight GGG?
he can if he beats gayweather
