You guys do realise that P4P is subjective? There is no "official list". So saying Lacy was or wasn't on the list as a matter of fact doesn't make any sense.

So,if the premise of this thread is to basically say that you must be American to garner enough hype to be on the p4p list, how did Golovkin gain so much hype? He's the 2nd best MW but is basically fighting his first top 10 mw tonight. He is already on some people's p4p lists and he isn't American although he is a good boy.

They'll tell you that any of their "slick" American fighters would dominate them purely based on the fact that they prefer fantasy wins over real ones.
        good post.

No, but he'd probably have a few HBO fights under his belt already instead of NBC. He's not doing too bad for himself now though. He's about to fight for the title on HBO in only his 22nd fight. Not too shabby.

Now if you were to ask if he was American w/ Al Haymon then you might be on to something lol.

            somebody ban this guy.
            this is all he does.

your ass has got to really be hurting, because boxing is a sport centered in the united states. the mecca of boxing is las vegas. most europeans never leave europe. we only let the best fight here. unless you're a HW, or a sh#Tty german MW (abraham, sturm, etc,) you aspire to fight in america.

kell brook went life and death with an american journeyman. carl froch won two rounds against andre ward. anybody who gives him more than that has no idea how to score a boxing match.

american boxing is better than british boxing. there is no comparing the two. get better, or get over it.

of course kovalev, a fighter just starting out and with only one decent win, wouldn't be p4p.

Hell no, he's not P4P now, why would his race have anything to do with his record. I love the guy but come on man, it's clear you have some ****** agenda. You must be a scared Cleverly fan.

                    The answer is definitely YES!
                    Why?

Many factors in this I believe!
                    • Kovalev would have a top notch promotor and maanger beside him hyping the name up to the heights
                    • He would of most likely had some tougher fights and he'd of won them
                    • Being American he'd have the reassured advantage of being protected when it comes to close decisions
                    • He knocks people out and makes it easy, knock outs make impacts and he'd automatically have alot more fans backing him
                    • He was a fantastic amateur boxer to further boost his prospect

Fact is their is alot of good American boxers but alot get hyped up heavily and Kovalev would be no different If he resided from USA.

                      yeah, that's it.

PED's are the reason that americans have been dominating boxing for over 100 years.
