Mayweather - 'Guess what, they all be screaming for they different country... I done already conquered all of the countries.'
The whole premise of this thread was founded upon a misquote, either intentional or unintentional.
However, this is Boxingscene so... let the unmoderated slick talk begin.

Also other countries don't see their fighters as a productThat's what people don't seem to understand. America is a big mix, people here who are nationalist nuthuggers, tend to favor people based on skill and performance. It doesn't matter what race you are if you impress. Other countries seem to have national pride, but don't give a damn if the product is good or not. At least how I see it.Comment

Pacquiao is a foreigner. Miguel Cotto is a foreigner. Ricky Hatton is a foreigner. Juan Manuel Marquez is a foreigner.
I know "people of USA" that were against him in everyone of those fights.
As previously stated, it just does not work that way in America. Not when many cities have "black", "white" and "mexican" sides of town. America is together...but it's not.
And, as a whole, black people have moved on from boxing. Mike Tyson was the last boxer that was truly supported.
Now, it's almost only basketball and football stars. With current basketball stars (and Michael Jordan) influencing a lot of black popular culture.Comment

Yes Mayweather made his decision and said some ****** things that he has to live with it, but IMO this couldn't be further from the truth.
Blacks are virtually the only group that don't do anything at all to sway negative images of their community. When Kim shot up Va Tech the Koreans were there. You say anything about the ***s and you're gonna catch a lawsuit. You hear about some blacks killing people in a drive by and no one even winces. People act like that is completely normal.
To be fair the media perpetuates a lot of the negative stereotypes as well. Record execs could play conscious rappers but they choose to give Chief Keef and French Montana million dollar record deals. I'm sure it wasn't a black person that signed off and almost got Shawty Lo a tv show on Lifetime called "All my Baby mommas" featuring Lo's 9 or 10 baby mommas and 11 kids.
Blacks control nothing nor for the most part own anything so they have virtually no say in media portrayal among other things. What the hell does a white or ***ish record exec care for how the black community is portrayed? The negative image of blacks is obviously getting someone paid.Comment
