it was mutually beneficial. it did help canelo get more known to non-mexican fans but at the same time canelo being on the undercard helped sell the ppv. mexican fans are major ppv buyers.

i think that's already proven with the floyd-guerrero fight...if canelo didn't pull out of the undercard the ppv buys would've been higher.

what was floyd making when he was 22 years old?
It wasnt anywhere near 10 mil thats for sure
The reason why Floyd is getting supposedly 40 and canelo 10 is because Floyd is no doubt the bigger name and more established name. That isnt the argument. You are comparing a 22 year old Canelo to a 36 year old floyd
      so lets make better comparisons
Compare Floyds Star power his drawing power his purse earnings at 22 to Canelos at 22. Canelo is 22 and will be headlining with Floyd. At 22 Floyd was still fighting in front of empty dance halls that had a capacity of 5,000

Quit being a hater and just own up to the fact that Canelo has big time star and drawing power. Does it mean he wins the fight hell no but you cant deny it

Pretty much you proved my point! Canelo is 22 years old he is a young dude... Floyd is the MAIN draw period! The A-side yes Canelo has fans but so does Broner! I am not hating on Canelo I am speaking facts... People are saying Canelo is the A-side but he is making $30 mil less than Floyd!

If you say he is too young that proves my case! He has potential and I am sure he will get there one day, but right now he is not the main guy which is cool! BUT he will get there I am sure.

But facts or facts... And Mayweather has a proven track record and Canelo we have to wait and see how his career turns out 5-10 years from now we never know!

When you fight on Mexican holidays, what better way to boost your ratings than to include Mexico's biggest rising star...

And now he says he "built" Canelo's PPV identity. PMSL.
If you such a big draw carry your own even not dam near free on showtime bringing in 1.3 c'mon you make no sense he HELP him that's no doubt may and old Mosley did over mil last time I check their black and then cotto 1.5...you in a dream world

People didn't even know who Canelo was until Richard Schaefer said he was dark horse opponent for Floyd some years ago that's what made people even pay attention to him

Canelo has not headlined a PPV in his 22 years of age.

At 22 Floyd had not headlined a PPV or sold out an arena.

Canelo has more fame, more fanbase, bigger purses at 22 than Floyd did at 22.

Canelo probably has more fans now then Floyd does now at this time.

I bet that the crowd at the MGM will be pro Canelo.
Did you see the Victor Ortiz vs Mayweather fight?? Or Mayweather/Hatton and Mosley fight?? They all had what seemed to be more fans cheering for them from what I could tell because Floyd was playing the villan role!

But yet if those same guys do not face Floyd or Pac they do not fight on PPV period! So just because fans come out to see Floyd lose... Does not mean the other person has more fans they just hate Floyd that much in which they are willing to pay to see him lose!!

Why else would he be the highest paid athlete two years in a row?? I am curious!

                    Good post man.
I think this is a great move by everyone especially Canelo and his peeps. He is going to lose to Floyd but the exposure and what if in the crazy event he actually wins or loses by SD it would be huge for his career. He will never face someone on Floyds level again and he can take that experience and run with it.
If you count A side and purses then you only have Floyd and maybe Pac if he wins other than that no one is close to making anywhere near what they make especially Floyd

This guy is so full of it . The truth is he wanted canelo on the undercard to make it a bigger event because of his popularity Especially with the Mexican crowd . He was fighting on Mexican holidays for those cards he's talking bout. Is he just ****** or dose he really believe this stuff. He never gives anyone credit , it's a bad quality.
