Dude please! I have a bunch of white and black casual boxing fans and they all knew who Canelo was even before this announcement
    quit fooling yourself
Canelo before the announcement of the fight was probably the 4th most recognized name in boxing thanks to GBP.

Why else would he be the highest paid athlete two years in a row?? I am curious!
Fight sells million if ppv and becuz a place that seats 18000 have more fan ti opposer boo oooohhh wow...every major boxer recognize his greatness blacks Mexican big and small ...Garcia , marquez just a few that consider the man TGE BEST I know you think you smart but when your peers give you them kind of props that's huge...dummy

Are you dense? Like for real, are you? Do you read, or do you just jump to conclusions like a ******? People are arguing that Alvarez is the A-side RIGHT NOW. We aren't talking about what Alvarez could be down the line. I swear, this board gets ignorant by the day.

The way I see it is, Mayweather has been ripping off the boxing community with his ridiculous purses. No other fighter will ever make as much as him per fight IMO because I dont think promoters will allow that to happen after they realized how Mayweather was able to get big and then started cherry picking his opponents while demanding top dollar.
You make no sense then Mexican vs Mexican should do great numbers he should be able to fight trout on ppv dude you dreaming ...I ain't buying bs you selling it don't add up unless there's a whole lot of Mexican fans then maybe

Inguess you don't pay attention to his post-fight interviews. He's usually pretty complimentary (unless Merchant gets under his skin first LOL) about his opponents.

Pre-fight he is usually obnoxious and says whatever he thinks will make the puppets dance. He contradicts himself, is usually incoherent but people still jump on it.

Was it good exposure for Canelo to fight on Mayweather undercards? No doubt, but the tables are shifting a little bit. If Floyd wants that September date who else is he going to fight? Alexander? Berto? A rematch with Ortiz? The truth is Canelo had him by the short hairs, Floyd has to fight Canelo. Deep down I think Mayweather knows he's not the "PPV King" he makes himself out to be.

there's million of hispanics that do use twitter, your just sad. and Floyd even has hispanic fan/haters the same thing really. millions of American/Europeans/Asians that don't have twitter either that buy floyds PPVs so what's your point? Twitter is example of potential PPV buys "target audience". Floyd is "GLOBAL" Canelo not so much.
Hater or Fan or don't even like boxing : You would Kmow who Floyd Mayweather IS!!

are you serious bro? that has nothing to do with this! Canelo built his following based on his nationality!! I think Mayweather wanted Canelo more on his undercards than Canelo wanted to be in them! prime example in canelo's last fight! he refused to be on pbf undercard and instead headlined a show vs trout in texas! Canelo has been a big star in mexico for a few years and has been making a name for him self in the u.s for these last couple of years.
