Im not saying Canelo is the A-side purse wise, Im making a point that he will have more fans at the MGM, more of his fans will purchase the PPV.

The way I see it is, Mayweather has been ripping off the boxing community with his ridiculous purses. No other fighter will ever make as much as him per fight IMO because I dont think promoters will allow that to happen after they realized how Mayweather was able to get big and then started cherry picking his opponents while demanding top dollar.

Compare Floyds Star power his drawing power his purse earnings at 22 to Canelos at 22. Canelo is 22 and will be headlining with Floyd. At 22 Floyd was still fighting in front of empty dance halls that had a capacity of 5,000

He brought in Canelo to help boost his own PPV numbers in recent times due to substandard opposition (Guerrero). Even Mayweather Cotto had lost it's lustre since Cotto had already been dismantled by Pacquiao and Margarito (and arguably was fading the Margarito rematch).

When you fight on Mexican holidays, what better way to boost your ratings than to include Mexico's biggest rising star...

Just to answer your question that you have repeated over 5 times in this thread and probably dozens of times in other threads.

Canelo has not headlined a PPV in his 22 years of age.


At 22 Floyd had not headlined a PPV or sold out an arena.


Canelo has more fame, more fanbase, bigger purses at 22 than Floyd did at 22.

Canelo probably has more fans now then Floyd does now at this time.

I bet that the crowd at the MGM will be pro Canelo.
