Of course he would have other prefences, in particular title holders. But Hopkins has always fought his mandatories throughout his career, never ducked one and is a an of his word so if it came down to it he would have fought him no question. But Kovalev was in a GREAT position of having options and rather than waiting for Golden Boy or whatever they went with Nathan and Warren who already had the contract signed and ready to go with HBOs approval. If Nathan's offer wasn't there, surely they would have pursued Hopkins which would have went to a purse bid and it would have been made.

After approving Murat-Hopkins, why no outrage there?

I don't understand "promotional company" fanboys
I don't get it either...It's the most ******ed shit I've seen yet in this forum. And not even promotional company fanboys, but the whole HBO vs SHOWTIME fanboyism...I mean seriously WTF???

Lol me either bro!!! This fight would probably suck. Yeah, Stevenson just ko chad but that's not happening vs Hopkins.

Hopkins’ last fight, in which the 48-year-old Philadelphia native won the IBF light heavyweight title from Tavoris Cloud, was broadcast by HBO. [Click Here To Read More]
Why is HBO holding a grudge against Golden boy?? I assuming it was Floyd's choice to go to Showtime.

Sounds Like GoldenBoy is getting desperate. So the same Promotional Company that was shouting at the wind for all boxing fans to cancel their HBO subscription, is now crying to the same boxing fans about HBO not showing interest in broadcasting on of their matches. WTF. I guess the Broner vs Malignaggi numbers were extremely low to have those Golden****** crawling back asking for a handout. I have lost all respect for Golden Boy Promotions as they are clearly a front for Al Haymon anyway, and is only a matter of time before Showtime gets tired of their antics as well or just continues to lose a ****load money.

B-Hop don't have many options left after Murat Showtime don't showcase the 175 divison HBO does

I think you're right, GBP is already crying uncle. But you're wrong about Broner, his numbers were very good, for Showtime standards, double so for a 14-1 showcase. But not sure it was value for their money, they did sink $2.5m+ into it. It's the good looking Lopez Maidana card that got pathetic viewing numbers.

It's not the viewing numbers that matter short term, it's Showtimes budget not being able to support the entire expensive GBP stable even in the best of times, much less while the network is taking massive ppv losses.
